Leading GYN Laparoscopic Surgeon Is First In Georgia

Dr. Michael Randell, a gynecologist on the Medical Staff at Northside Hospital - Atlanta, performed the Hospital's and Georgia's first daVinci robotic myomectomy using the new Morcellex Sigma Tissue Morcellator by Ethicon, part of the Johnson & Johnson family of companies.

"Offering my patients the safest and least invasive surgery has always been my goal," said Dr. Randell.  "Today, with the use of the daVinci robot and devices like the Morcellex Sigma Tissue Morcellator, women can have their fibroids removed safely, through a few small incisions.  This allows for a woman to keep her uterus and return to normal activity soon after the surgery while experiencing quick healing and less pain.
