The 9th Annual Walk with Friends Benefits the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation

The ninth annual “Friends 1K MS Walk” benefiting the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation is planned Saturday morning, June 8, 2013 at Heritage Park, 12301 Pardee, Taylor, MI.  Registration for the event is $20.00, which includes an event T-shirt.  Funds raised go directly to support the multiple sclerosis community.

Samara Wolf, pet lover, and individual living with Multiple Sclerosis, has planned and hosted the “Friends” Walk event for the past nine years.  Mrs. Wolf explains why she volunteers in this role. “Although I have this illness, my life is far from over. I live every day to the fullest so as to not have any regrets later. I also make sure to laugh a lot, to not only burn extra pounds, but also to help occupy my mind with the good things,” says Mrs. Wolf.  She hopes that 2013 will be another “breakthrough” year in terms of community awareness and support.

Registration opens June 8 at 9 a.m. and the walk begins at 10 a.m. with complimentary donuts, coffee and water for participants.  Join the walk to help raise awareness of MS and to help patients better afford the cost of medicine, wheelchairs, driving aids, and necessary medical equipment.   To learn more about how you can participate as an individual, family or organization, contact Samara at 313-445-0118 or corgimommy@hotmail.com.  Business sponsors are welcome.

The mission of the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation is to provide programs and support services to those persons affected by MS that help them maintain their health, safety, self-sufficiency, and personal well-being; and to heighten public awareness of multiple sclerosis in order to elicit financial support for the MSF’s programs and services and promote understanding for those diagnosed with the illness.
